Good day out, easy booking

I grabbed a couple of Standard Entry Tickets online for last Saturday. It was pretty straightforward to book, no hiccups at all. We spent a good few hours there, saw a lot of cool animals, especially loved the giraffes. The weather was even good, which always helps. Felt like a proper nice day out.

Enjoyable day, but watch the queues

We bought standard entry tickets for a Saturday visit. Booking online was easy enough, and we got the usual online discount, which helps. Getting in was okay; there was a bit of a queue at the gate even with pre-booked tickets, but it moved steadily. The variety of animals was impressive, and the kids loved the Penguin Feeding Experience we managed to catch. My main complaint would be the crowds around some of the more popular exhibits; it was tough to get a good view sometimes. Also, navigation could be a little clearer in some sections. Still, we had a good time, and it's a solid option for a day out.

Good value for a day out

I was looking for something to do that wasn't too expensive, so I checked out the London Zoo website. I ended up getting a Standard Entry Ticket with the online booking discount, which saved a bit compared to the gate price. It wasn't a huge saving, but every little helps. I thought about a membership, but for just one visit, the single ticket made more sense for my budget. I brought my own lunch and snacks to save even more, as I figured food inside would be pricey. The animals were great, I especially enjoyed the Gorilla Kingdom. Felt like I got decent value for my money.

Consistently good experience

I've been a Gold Membership holder for a few years now, and I just renewed it again. This visit, I brought my niece and nephew using my guest passes. It's always so easy to get in, no waiting around, which is a big plus during school holidays. The animal exhibits are consistently well-kept and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable if you ask them questions. I feel like the membership offers really good value, especially since I visit quite a few times a year. They've also updated a few areas since my last visit, which is nice to see. I keep coming back because it's a reliable and enjoyable day out every time.

Fun day, saw lots of animals

Went to London Zoo with my mates last week. Got our tickets online, which was easy. It was cool seeing all the animals, especially the lions. We spent ages by their enclosure. Had a good time just walking around. Definitely a solid day out.

Overall decent, a few queues

We went with a Family Ticket for the bank holiday. Online booking was simple enough, got the 15% saving which was good. The zoo itself was clean and most of the animal enclosures were well-maintained. We especially liked the Penguin Feeding Experience, that was a highlight for the kids. My main feedback would be the queues for some of the food stalls; they were quite long around lunchtime. Also, finding an empty bench to sit on was a bit of a challenge at times. But for the price and what you get, it was a solid day out.

Always a great day out

I've been a London Zoo Gold Member for three years now, and I just renewed my membership. This time, the renewal was as straightforward as ever online. I appreciate the consistency. Every visit is well-organized, and the staff are always helpful. It's why I keep coming back.

Detailed visit experience

I purchased a Flexi Ticket for myself and a friend, which allowed us to pick our day closer to the time, that flexibility was really helpful. We arrived around 10:30 AM and there was a short queue for entry, but it moved quickly. We had pre-booked online, so just scanned the QR code. We spent about five hours exploring. The Lion Land exhibit was particularly impressive, the big cats looked very active. The 'In with the Lemurs Experience' was a nice add-on, we paid extra for that and it was worth it to get so close. Food and drink prices inside were about what you'd expect for a major attraction. We brought our own water bottles and refilled them at the stations, which was convenient. The gift shop was a bit crowded on the way out, but they had a good range of items. Overall, a well-managed and enjoyable visit.

Good visit, minor booking issue

I purchased a Family Ticket for our trip to London Zoo last month. The online booking process was mostly smooth, though I had a slight hiccup finding where to apply the online booking discount code; it wasn't immediately obvious. Once I found it, the discount applied correctly, which was good. On arrival, scanning the tickets was quick, no queues, which was a relief. We spent most of the day there, and the animal enclosures were well-maintained. We particularly enjoyed the 'In with the Lemurs Experience' which we added on-it was a bit extra but felt worth it for the close encounter. The staff there were knowledgeable and friendly. My only real gripe was the food prices inside the zoo, they felt a bit steep, so I'd recommend bringing your own snacks if possible. Overall, a positive day out, and the animals all looked healthy and active.

Anyone know if the 2 for 1 rail ticket offer for London Zoo is still a thing? Planning a trip from outside London and hoping to save some cash.

A Ashley Scott 5 days ago
I used it like two months ago! So yeah, pretty sure it's still running. Just make sure you have your train tickets and the voucher printout.

B Betty J. 3 days ago
Afaik, that's still one of the best deals for the zoo. Just remember it's usually valid with specific rail providers, so double-check the details on their website.

Is it worth getting a membership if I'm planning to go to London Zoo more than once in a year? Or even combine it with Whipsnade?

M Melissa Miller 2 weeks ago
Definitely worth it if you plan on going twice or more, even if just to London Zoo. You get other perks too, like discounts on stuff inside.
2
K Kevin Robinson 1 week ago
If you're thinking about Whipsnade too, then 100% yes. The membership covers both, and it saves you a ton of money over buying individual tickets multiple times.

can you bring your own food and drinks into London Zoo? Trying to keep costs down for a family day out.

J John Wilson 3 weeks ago
Yep, you totally can! There are plenty of picnic spots around, which is great. Saves a fortune compared to buying all your food there.

I always bring a packed lunch. They have cafes, but they're pretty standard zoo prices. Bringing your own makes it much cheaper for a family.

Can I change the date of my tickets if something comes up? Bought them for next Saturday but might need to switch.

E Eric Hernandez 1 month ago
I had to do that once, I think you can as long as it's within a certain timeframe before your original booking. Had to email them.

N Nathan King 1 month ago
They usually let you reschedule, but there might be a small fee or you have to give them enough notice. Better check their booking policy on the website.

Hey guys, thinking of taking the kids to London Zoo next month. Do I absolutely HAVE to book tickets online beforehand or can we just show up and buy them at the gate?

B Barbara H. 2 weeks ago
You can usually buy at the gate, but it's more expensive. Like 10% cheaper if you book online. Plus, sometimes they can be fully booked on super busy days, especially during holidays.

J Justin L. 1 week ago
Yeah, definitely book online. We went during half term and it was packed. Heard some people got turned away at the entrance because they hadn't pre-booked.
